Spectrum 17 Juror

I have the honor of being a juror for the upcoming Spectrum 17 Annual of Fantastic Art. Spectrum is one of those wonderful stories of something that started small and continued to grow every year, not only in size and scope but in quality, to become the premier annual showcase of its genre. Those who know me know I am a book whore. Spectrum is one of those for which I do a book dance of joy when it arrives in the mail. The great thing about it is that I continue to read and study the pictures for years after that initial imagery binge. So get your bribes ready 'cause I'm on my way to Kansas in February.

...And continuing my illustration streak. I re-worked and adjusted color on this older drawing to use for a secret project. Sure seems like I have a lot of those, you secret projects.

oh man, Bill. I am trying to figure out which professor is who in this drawing. It is making me laugh so much.

Julia, not a professor. Someone from my old days in retail. Those retail meetings were brutal.

Hello, I looked on the sites with digital art. I really don't like it. It looks so artificial and fake to me. It's for me the same as computer music, it has not my interest. I love the work of Femke Hiemstra, you should google her, last week I got her first book and I read she sometimes use the computer to ad some layers in her paintings to achieve more volume. I'm really disappointed about that, for me is that fake. But I will forgive her:) as long as she use the computer very sometimes!! By the way her book is awesome! You should see it. Next week I go to Amsterdam to meet her at the American Book Center, there she will sign her book. I am very busy with my painting on a copperplate. When it's ready and I like it a bit I would send you a photo.
