Just a Trim

I never know what will influence me. I've always enjoyed black greek pottery. The lighter images against that black background just pop. I also remember a beautiful piece of furniture with chinoiserie decoration. Beautiful gold against black. I've been wanting to do a series of paintings against black. Here is a start. A silly start but a start none the less.

Your work is just so incredible. Wild, exquisite and wierd. I really like how your eye sees and your mind works. Very inventive!

Peace,

Have been coming here for quite sometime now and would like to compliment you. I love not only your creativity but also your great subtle color work. Have two questions, if you dont mind answering: is this oil? and if it is, what black did you use?

LuLu- Thank you very much.

Nuno-Thanks for continuing to return. This is actually acrylic and the black is the best black in the world. Golden's carbon black.

Vanja-Thank you. I love my European connection. Keep up the great work.

I love this piece, & I'm also crazy about the warm color/black background combo. I have a theory that it is related to an atavistic appreciation of fire in darkness.

Also I have an inexplicable fixation on pigs & curlicues. You are hitting all my weaknesses here!
