I'm Here
Just making sure you're still there. Place marker sketch. Life has gotten in the way lately, but I should post a new painting tomorrow. In the meantime my show at the Basement Gallery is going great. About sold it out. But that just means I have to paint (oh no) some more 'cause the show must go on. I just made that up.

Terrible Yellow Eyes II
In June I posted a piece for the Terrible Yellow Eyes tribute to Maurice Sendak. Since then some things have happened. When you check out the site you will see a whole ton of great pieces honoring this great book and the man who authored it. Gallery Nucleus got wind of the happenings and is doing a show with some of the artists involved. The gallery said we could do more work if we wanted so I did, just because Wild is cool. Here is the new one which I will ship off right away.

I'm in the Dark
I guess I'm on a dark streak. Doing the Rembrandt thing. I like where these are going and that can be dangerous. This painting is gigantic at about 8x10 inches. By the way I have a show opening at the Basement Gallery here in Boise on Thursday September 3. Hope to see all of you locals there.

Skull
I don't think I have ever done a skull painting, to that end here is a skull painting. Well really a bird painting with a skull. Anyone who know me knows I love the gem like quality of small paintings. This piece is 3x4 inches. Also a couple of progress shots for those interested in that kind of thing. I'll call this painting "The Letterman Snake".

Interviews
New interview at German site: diskursdisko. Spent a couple of years in Germany so this is kinda cool.

Le CombOver
Here is another quick painting as I work on beautiful blockbusters for an upcoming show at the Basement Gallery in Boise. It is amazing what we'll do for style, to be more than contemporary. I believe this will also go on the cover of our wonderful local weekly paper, The Boise Weekly, in September.

ROM
I was invited to be in another tribute show. This one benefits the creator of the ROM comic, Bill Mantlo who was in a debilitating accident some years ago. The show is not until December but I finished early. This stuff is just too fun.

Those Quick and Fun Drawings
These are a few of those drawings I do with pieces of stuff I keep around my table. These happen to be on mat board. I just love to start and go with nary a thought in my head. Which is not hard, I rarely have a thought in my head. The drawings keep me fueled as I work on more involved projects. It happens that these are taking me in the direction of animals and things that have irked me lately. Some of the animals are representational. I didn't really have a run in with a hedgehog.

The Main Man
I can't wait. I don't want you all to think I have been slacking. I was invited to be in another tribute show. This one has to do with comic book characters. I don't have an exact date but will post it when I get it. It will be in an LA Gallery which I will give to you once it is confirmed. This guy is just too cool to keep hidden. Lobo, the main man, the universe's greatest bounty hunter has been partially emasculated by me. I'm really sorry but I couldn't resist. Here is the update: The exhibition, Crusaders and Haters will be at Royal/T Gallery opening on July 17th, 2009. If you're in the area. . .

Spectrum Exhibit
Another incarnation for this painting. It has been in several shows winning awards and stuff and now it has been chosen for the Spectrum Show 2 at the Society of Illustrators in New York. 150 pieces out of about 2000 were chosen from Spectrums 12-15 to be in this show. It is quite an honor. Not sure I deserve it but I'll take it.
