This series was very popular so I thought I'd post the whole thing even though I think some have been posted elsewhere here and maybe even on my website. By the way I think maybe not all of them have the fuzzy bear thing but each has some kind of fuzzy thing.
Check out an interview with me from Irene Gallo at Tor. She is a super great art director who uses a lot of artwork. I was also featured on lines & colors a great blog which I check out very morning.
Shameless plug a capitalist plea. This is a print "Pig Out" I did for a Greenwich Workshop small works exhibit. It really is a beautiful print and comes signed. Maybe I'll get to do more. Hit the title of this post for a link.
May not be Berry, Manchess, Giancola, Hughes, etc. demos but they are uniquely mine and my students like them. Plus they were each done in under a half hour. I colored the spider digitally as a continuation demo.
Seems everyone does these process things on their sites. The problem with me is that I get lazy halfway through and forget to scan, missing some of the the best progressions. There is also the danger of people liking one of the steps along the way more than the actual finished piece. Well what do they know. Although that first shot is pretty cool just how it is. I also put my first squid in this painting. Seems everyone was doing a squid so I thought I'd give it a go. I like octopuses better.
I had the great pleasure of working with Rich Deas at Feiwel & Friends. This is a book cover for the US version of a British novel "The Little Secret" by Kate Saunders. I've included 6 of the 18 chapter heads plus an image for the back cover. The last illustration is a bonus endpage thing I did. It was a fun project and I am happy with the way it turned out.
