Yes now I remember. Belorussian. It would be interesting to know how different the two languages look. In any case I really like the look with my illustration. I did a comic which was translated into cyrillic type. I'll try to remember to post it. I guess anything different has an air of romance to it.
It's really sweet to see Belarussian language (I'm from Belarus myself, but I'm an illustrator living in Boston now). I can see why they chose your artwork. Monochromatic work has a nostalgic and melancholic feel that goes well with Russian/Belarussian traditions and character.
Extremely enamored of the effects of this painting, especially the black fading into the background, and the translucence of the creature's head. I have only painted in oil, can't imagine getting that effect. Pretty much only acrylics would do this? Or...?
Yeah, russian writing can look like Alchemist symbols when it's bold like that.
